As seen from the Bay of Salamis. Pieraeus its seaport, is seen in the foreground. The Acropolis, though five miles distant, can be distinctly seen, crowned by the temple of minerva. A little to the left is Mount Pentelicus, where Xerxes wept over his immense army fast fading away. A beautiful instantaneous view.
